Birth Doula in Cornwall

Your body knows the way. I keep you both steady enough to follow it.

Gemma Kitto talks to a birth doula client to help her feel calm and confident during labour

Birth doula support in Cornwall for a calmer, steadier approach to labour and birth.

What sort of doula am I?

Less incense, crystals and affirmations; more mindset, massage and advocacy…

Since 2023, I’ve supported capable, independent women - and the partners who love them - to navigate the birth of their baby with steadiness instead of fear.

Yes, the world of pregnancy, birth and the baby life beyond can feel overwhelming.

And no, you’re not one to scare easily.

But this season of life has a way of surfacing the quieter fears that sit just beneath the surface.

  • The loss of control.

  • The unpredictability.

  • The weight of responsibility.

You don’t want - or need - anyone to take over.

What you’re really looking for is someone to help you stay steady on the inside, when things get tough.

That’s where I come in.

From the earliest weeks of pregnancy through to the intensity of labour I build relationships grounded in trust and steadiness.

So that when I walk into your birth space, you exhale.

You know you are not doing this alone.

You have someone here for you, that gets you — calm, clear, and completely on your side.

And from there, you sink into your birth & follow the best path for you.

The way you experience your baby’s birth matters.

If this steadiness feels important to you, explore the doula packages below to find one that feels right.

Right from the off she made us both feel like we were in the safest of hands. Throughout our pregnancy, birth and postpartum, she’s felt like a friend, family and supportive mentor.

We hit a few bumps in the road in pregnancy and Gemma made herself available to discuss these, or signpost relevant support. My husband and I found regular check-ins on WhatsApp comforting, and I particularly benefited from podcast suggestions relevant to my pregnancy and birth plans that helped me get into a good frame of mind for our birth goals.

With Gemma’s support, we achieved our VBAC, and the confidence and self-belief Gemma instilled in me is something I am eternally thankful for.
