Antenatal Classes in Cornwall
5* rated antenatal classes in Cornwall that help you make your birth your own…
Looking for antenatal classes in Cornwall?
Here’s a truth for you: Cornwall is not the same as the rest of the UK, especially when it comes to birth.
Understanding what these differences are and using them within your own antenatal preparation has the power to transform your birth & baby experience.
I understand how Cornwall operates…
Despite being born ‘in the North’, growing up on the beaches and bridleways, marrying a proud Cornish man and raising two strong little maids who live for shanties means the Cornish way of life is as close to being in my blood as politics will allow.
And as I travel up and down the A30 to support antenatal and doula clients on their birth & baby adventures, I see how this way of life weaves its way into mainstream pregnancy, birth and postpartum experiences.
The doula network connects me to pregnancy, birth and postpartum on an international level, but what I see, hear and support every day is often unique to Cornwall.
From our lifestyles and priorities, to our road network and maternity policies, everything about how we prepare for birth here is just different enough to affect your birth.
And that’s why I deliver my antenatal classes and courses in the way that I do.
I know that the ‘standard;’ approach just doesn’t work for everyone: as a unique person, living in a unique place, it’s highly likely that the best fit model is unlikely to give you what you need…
… let alone the quality of birth preparation you deserve.
That’s why there’s nothing standard about the birth preparation I provide.
Whether you choose 3-hr workshop, one-day group course or full antenatal package, you’ll benefit from:
my in-depth local knowledge of Cornwall’s maternity system
wealth of local professional experiences (RCHT & community midwife teams)
a personalised approach that prioritises your lifestyle, hopes, fears and goals around the birth of your baby.

Yes absolutely!
Not only am I a FEDANT registered and certified antenatal teacher, I am also a certified and practising birth and postnatal doula. This means I am able to bring a brilliant balance of theory and working practice in the birth and postnatal space in my antenatal classes.
Plus, I am an expert and experienced teacher: before this life, I taught GCSE and A-Level English for over 15 years. So I don’t just know my birth and baby stuff, I know how to deliver it in an engaging and effective way too.

I deliver antenatal education across the whole of Cornwall.
Birth preparation workshops and one-day antenatal classes are based at The Family Space in Threemilestone: I work here because it is the most perfect environment to deliver antenatal courses. It’s light, airy, comfortable and far more pleasant than a village hall! Definitely worth the travel time.
My full antenatal courses are delivered in the comfort of your home (wherever that may be this side of the Tamar). We book our sessions at times and dates to suit us both, and they’re often accompanied by tea and biscuits. Because why wouldn’t you?

This is easy: because I’ll be focused on you.
As a working doula, I know just how individualised birth and baby-life is.
As a Cornish doula, I know how unique our set up can be.
Unlike big name brands, there’s nothing standardised or generic about the antenatal classes I deliver. Every single course is planned, tweaked and tailored to suit the parents-to-be I’m working with, and the experiences you’re likely to face.
This is a level of personalisation that big name brands just cannot match.
