Pregnancy & Parent Events in Cornwall

Finding people who know what it’s like to be you can be a total game-changer…
Making friends as an adult is hard…
Add the worries and logistical complexities of a pregnancy or a baby into that mix and it becomes really tricky. But finding a ‘tribe’ of pregnant or parent folk that understand you is an incredible important thing for so many reasons:
Our ‘I need a pack to feel safe’ mammal brains need them.
Our ‘I’m all new at this, help!’ brains need it.
Our ‘I’ve been on my own with a baby for 12 hours straight’ brains need it.
But where are you meant to find them?
Well… here, as it happens.
Feeling ready for birth & baby life? These’ll help…

Pregnancy, parent & baby events in Cornwall…
As a doula and as a mum of two, believe me when I say that you matter too. So often, pregnancy and postpartum is all about the baby, but finding a comfortable social space can help to make the transition into this new normal so much better.
That’s why, all of my pregnancy and parent events are designed with you in mind…
they’re held in the places you like to go
doing the things you like to do
meeting the future friends who like it all too
So while it feel a bit scary or daunting at first, all you really have to worry about is which event to come to first:

Not usually, no! But honestly, it’s a good thing.
When you sign up to one of my pregnancy or parent events, you’re doing it because you want to meet other new parents or pregnant folk. That’s a common ground that can’t be beaten.
At Bump Brunch and The Nest, most people come alone for their first time but within 20 minutes you wouldn’t know it. That common ground gives you something to chat about from the very beginning and trust me when I say friendships (and Whatsapp groups!) tend to blossom very quickly.
The group antenatal classes are slightly different: you come with your partner so you’re not alone. However, the classes are designed to get you mixing and talking, and phone numbers are often swapped before the end of our time together.

Not if I can help it!
I use all of my doula tactics and social skills to create the right, relaxing environment for you guys to settle into.
That normally avoids the silences, BUT if it does happen, I take the lead and prompt a new round or topic.
I’ve been running these since 2023 and believe me when I say that no-one has been left scratching their head and looking out of the window yet!

Good god no! The whole point of my pregnancy and parent events is for you to get some feel-good TLC time, and to meet some people that know what its like to be you.
That means you need to have time and space to breathe, chat and laugh.
None of my events include awkward icebreakers, organised fun or singing (unless you start it!) of any kind. In group antenatal classes, we do whole group discussions but no one has to speak if they don’t want to.
-
I keep the cost of my groups as low as humanly possible to make sure they’re as accessible.
Some events are free, some are not. They are priced to cover my costs and ensure that my time is fairly compensated.
I always ask for anonymous feedback and so far I’ve got a 100% ‘good value for money’ rating so I think they’re pitched right!
