Birth Space Cornwall: Terms & Conditions
The membership terms and conditions listed below are an extension to those applying to all Born to Birth Cornwall clients & individuals who use the Born to Birth Cornwall website.
Overview
The terms and conditions below apply to the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership provided through Gemma Kitto trading as ‘Born to Birth Cornwall’.
Through the terms and conditions the term ‘I/Me’ refers to Gemma Kitto trading as ‘Born to Birth Cornwall’.
Through the terms and conditions, the term ‘You’ refers to the person who is either seeking a ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership or who has paid for a ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership
Terms & definitions
Birth Space Cornwall: the organised group designed and curated by Gemma Kitto to support pregnant and postpartum families in Cornwall through a range of services, events and discounts (defined below) provided on or through the paywalled membership site accessed through ‘Born to Birth Cornwall’s website and hosted through Squarespace.
Membership: the period of time that an individual is permitted to access the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ services as defined below.
Member: the individual for whom this membership has been purchased as defined on the check-out form at the point of sale. Access to the space is permitted ONLY for the individual named on the membership and is not permitted to be transferred to another individual once payment has been completed.
Membership space: the online area behind the paywall which requires login details to be used in order to access it.
Subscription period: the timeframe the member has to access ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ relative to their payment (eg: annual access = 12 calendar months). For the purposes of legalities, Lifetime access is defined by (but not limited to) a subscription period of 5 years.
Services: any of the courses, resources, Zoom spaces or Facebook groups accessible directly from the paywalled ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ space.
Events: in-person social events for pregnancy and postpartum families at designated places & times according to schedules and advertising for which Birth Space Cornwall members have advance access to book and to attend at discounted rates.
Discounts: members of Birth Space Cornwall are entitled a 10% discount on all antenatal classes and courses, and birth and postnatal doula support packages.
Acceptance of Terms
Agreeing to the terms & conditions is a requires stage in the purchase of any ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership.
All and any questions relating to the terms and conditions relating to ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ should be directed to ‘me’ prior to the purchase being completed.
Memberships
You have the choice of three membership options to access ‘Birth Space Cornwall’.
Monthly access: this is a subscription and the advertised fee is payable each calendar month, taken on the same date as the first payment in each calendar month. It can be cancelled at any time (see restrictions below).
Annual access: this is a subscription and the advertised fee is payable each year, taken on the same date as the first payment each subsequent calendar year. It can be cancelled at any time (see restrictions below).
Lifetime access: this is a one-off payment which allows the member unlimited access to the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership.
Memberships provide access to ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ for the length of it’s existence (subject to payment).
Memberships can be cancelled at any time; in the case of subscriptions, this will stop further payments from being taken / membership being renewed at the renewal date.
Members who choose cancel their membership will continue to have access to ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ until the renewal date.
Cancelled memberships are not subject to refunds: while memberships can be cancelled (see above), it is not possible to issue refunds for any remaining accessible time purchased that they do not intend to use as access is automatically granted until the renewal date.
In the event that ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ ceases to exist, refunds to members will be made according to a percentage of the remaining subscription period relative to the payment taken during the most recent transaction.
Access to the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership and all related services, events and discounts is strictly limited to the person named on check-out form completed during purchase; once processed, it is non-transferrable to other individuals.
Membership login details are unique and specific to the individual for whom the membership has been purchased; it should not be shared with or given to other individuals to access ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ in their name or place.
The transference or sharing of login details to a membership will result in the suspension and termination of the named member’s membership, and any subsequent memberships purchased, without refund.
Services
‘Birth Space Cornwall’ provides a range of services to support pregnant and postpartum members within the supportive scope of a doula: no medical advice will be shared or given, and this space is not designed - in any way - to take the place of medical information and advice.
It is my aim to provide the following services without additional charges to the members of ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ each calendar month, to be accessible to them during the subscription periods for which they are eligible:
Access to ‘The Birth Stories Library’ along with the associated glossary; this is to be updated and added to as and when new stories are donated by members.
The Birth Stories Library is constructed using donated stories from people who are choosing to voluntarily share their birth stories, collected via Google Form and uploaded to the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership space each month by Gemma Kitto.
Donated stories will be edited only for spelling, punctuation and grammatical purposes to aid understanding.
Donated stories will under no circumstances be shared on social media platforms or in any place outside of the membership space; stories will only be accessible only through the paywall entry to the membership area for the exclusive use of members.
Donated stories remain the property of the individuals donating them & their stories can be rescinded or removed at any time via written (email) request.
Access to the pre-recorded ‘Build your Birth: the step-by-step guide to making birth your own’ course; this is defined as the series of videos along with the access to download the PDF workbook.
I reserve the right to amend details within the course or to change the structure of the course without warning according to my own training, education and experiences.
The videos, scripts and all associated resources attached to the ‘Build Your Birth’ course are my intellectual property & it is not permitted to download, copy & paste, screenshot or in any other way share materials outside of the membership areas under any circumstances.
Access to recommended resources via links in the membership area.

I reserve the right to add to, remove or amend links to resources at any time, and without warning.
The information provided in the resources linked to via the membership areas do not belong to and are not affiliated with myself or Born to Birth Cornwall.
Access to discounts on further support and services from me.
for discounts on group antenatal classes and courses, members should use discount codes provided in the email given to them at the start of their subscription period.
for discounts on private antenatal classes and courses, or for doula support packages (birth and/or postnatal), members should contact me directly via email.
Provision of weekly ‘Check-in Chats’ via Zoom for the pregnant & postpartum members of the ‘Birth Space Community’; these will run according to the dates publicised via the membership space and reminder emails sent by the Mail Chimp server. Sessions will be accessible via links on the membership space and through reminder emails.
Check-in chats are voluntary to attend and do not require screens to be on.
Check-in chats will not be recorded or broadcast outside of the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’.
Check-in chats will not be saved or viewed at any time or date past the live event.
I reserve the right to cancel or postpone scheduled Check-in chats at short notice.
Diary time and opportunities allowing, missed sessions will be rescheduled within 48 hours of the initial scheduled date and time.
Provision of one ‘Ask the Expert’ clinics with accompanying Q&A sessions each month for pregnant & postpartum members.
Sessions will take an interview / presentation format facilitated by me but delivered and presented by the local birth/baby professional scheduled for that session.
To attend a live session and/or to ask questions to the professional presenting the session, members must book a place via the schedule within the membership area.
Individuals booked for the sessions will be reputable within their field of work & have qualifications and experiences relevant to the topic they’ve chosen to present on.
Members have the opportunity to submit questions in advance (at point of booking) or during the live session.
Sessions will be recorded and saved on the site for two calendar months after their recording took place; recordings will be watchable through the membership area.
While I will do my best to select and invite practitioners and professionals who will bring beneficial knowledge and insight to the membership community, the views, ideas and messages shared by each individual professional is not affiliated with myself, Birth Space Cornwall or Born to Birth Cornwall.
I reserve the right to cancel or postpone scheduled ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions at short notice.
Diary time and opportunities allowing, missed sessions will be rescheduled within one week of the initial scheduled date and time.
Access to the private Facebook group for the exclusive use of ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ members.
Members are able to join the Facebook group at their own discretion.
Joining the Facebook group requires agreement to community standards; failure to adhere to these will result in removal from the group from one calendar month. Repeat offenses will result in permanent removal from the Facebook group.
No refunds will be made available to individuals who are removed from the Facebook group.
It is my aim to provide access to the following services at additional charges to the subscription fee each month:
Bump Brunch
A two hour social event to be delivered at ‘The Family Space’ in Threemilestone, Truro.
Tickets to the event will include access to the facilities, hot drinks & a continental style brunch (pastries & fruit) as well as activities to promote community building & friendship, as well as the opportunity to ask questions and get information from any attending birth and baby professionals, including myself.
This is a public event with limited capacity; ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ members will get advance booking and a discounted rate of 10% off the total ticket price to attend; discount codes will be sent out via email at the start of each subscription period.
Discount codes should be applied at check-out during booking and cannot be applied once confirmation of their purchase has been received; members take responsibility for checking that discounts have been applied correctly before completing their purchase.
Tickets need to be purchased in advance for all attending adults through the booking channels provided on the Born to Birth Cornwall website.
The Weekend Nest
A 90-min event for families with babies from 3 months to 3 years.
Play-areas and equipment suitable for the ages listed will be made available.
A hot-drink & home-baked treat will be provided for every adult attending.
Parents are fully-responsible for the health, wellbeing and behaviour of their children at all times.
This is a public event with limited capacity; ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ members will get advance booking and a discounted rate of 10% off the total ticket price to attend; discount codes will be sent out via email at the start of each subscription period.
Discount codes should be applied at check-out during booking and cannot be applied once confirmation of their purchase has been received; members take responsibility for checking that discounts have been applied correctly before completing their purchase.

I reserve the right to change the scope and provision of ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ services without warning and at my own discretion.
Restrictions
You are granted access to the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ membership space for the time period defined by the scope of your membership.
Access is granted once payment is made and the transaction processed.
Fees & Payments
Memberships are available on a tiered pricing system: you are responsible for choosing a subscription period and quantity that is appropriate for you.
Membership pricing options are as advertised on the ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ sales page (on the Born to Birth Cornwall website).
Memberships cannot be changed or amended once confirmed by the Squarespace membership system.
Memberships are managed automatically by Squarespace: you are responsible for updating & controlling your account and membership details.
I reserve the right to increase charges for membership options at my own discretion; any changes to your subscription rate for further payments will be shared with you via email with at least one week’s notice.
You are responsible for ensuring the funds and details are correct and available as needed subscription payments to be processed; payments that do not complete will result in your membership being suspended or terminated.
Subscription payments will be taken automatically on a rolling programme according to the date of your first payment, and the subscription period you have agreed to.
Cancelling your membership is your responsibility and should be done in advance of a payment being made should you not wish to continue with your membership: refunds will not be made available for subscription payments that have gone through if you had the intention to cancel, but have not acted upon it.
Cancelled memberships are not subject to refunds: while memberships can be cancelled (see above), it is not possible to issue refunds for any remaining accessible time purchased that they do not intend to use as access is automatically granted until the renewal date.

Intellectual Property
All contents created by me - including but not limited to videos, scripts, booklets, resources and copytext - remains my intellectual property and is not to be copied, shared or broadcast to individuals outside of the Birth Space Cornwall membership space or membership community without my express written permission.
All content donated or offered up by members - including but not limited to the Birth Stories Library and Facebook feeds - remains your intellectual property and is not to be copied, shared or broadcast to individuals outside of the Birth Space Cornwall membership space or membership community without your express written permission.
Members who breech these terms will have their memberships permanently terminated without refund.
User Conduct & Responsibility
‘Birth Space Cornwall's community standards are to provide an inclusive, judgement-free, safe and supportive space that seeks to help make the journey through pregnancy, postpartum and parenting more positive through independent information sharing and solidarity.
Members are expected to support these values and ensure that all forms of communication within the membership space (including Zoom & social media spaces) adhere and uphold these values.
While I will make every effort to police and moderate spaces where members communicate with one another, I take no responsibility for the ideas, emotions or information shared by members & am not responsible for any consequences of them.
Members agree to uphold the safety of this space by not sharing ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ content outside of the membership spaces.
Members agree to uphold the safety of this space by not admitting individuals who do not have a membership into the space, either through sharing their login details or transferring their membership to them.
Members who are seen to contradict or go against the community standards may have their memberships suspended or terminated at my discretion; I reserve the right to define what goes against these standards in my own way, according to the circumstances or situation that presents itself.
Refunds will not be considered where a membership has been suspended or terminated due to a breech in user conduct or responsibility.
Termination & Suspension
Where a member breeches the terms and conditions listed above, evidence will be sought before a judgement is made on what to do with their membership.
I reserve the right to define what classifies as justifiable evidence dependent on the circumstances and situation that presents itself.
Members will be notified via email of their membership suspension or termination.
Members have the right to appeal this action provided they do so in writing (email) within seven days of receiving the notification of said suspension or termination.
All appeals will be responded to in writing (email) within seven days of receipt.
I reserve the right to deal with membership suspensions and terminations on a case-by-case basis depending on the circumstances and situation.
Liability & Disclaimers
I am fully insured to facilitate and support pregnancy, birth and postpartum within the scope of a doula and antenatal teacher’s practice; the services and events provided by ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ will operate within the boundaries laid out by my insurance.
Gemma Kitto & Birth Space Cornwall’s liability for any damages or losses arising from the use of the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall be limited to £1,000,000.
This limitation of liability applies even if the damages are caused by my negligence.
I take no responsibility for any damages or negative consequences that arise as a result of information, advice or any other form of guidance or influence provided by professionals or individuals other than myself; this includes but is not limited to organisations listed in the recommended resources, professionals or practitioners involved in ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions or who are attending ‘Bump Brunches’ (or any other in-person event that forms part of the Birth Space Cornwall offering).
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Birth Space Cornwall operates under the jurisdiction of UK law.
Should you wish to raise a dispute with me or a service provided by me through ‘Birth Space Cornwall’ please do so via email. I will endeavour to respond within 48 hours.
